Non Cash Charitable Donation Worksheet
Please feel free to use the link below as a tool for calculating your Non Cash Charitable Donations. On the Worksheet, you will be able to enter the quantity under good, Better than Good, and Excellent. The worksheet will then calculate out the value of your items per grouping and the total overall.
IMPORTANT! When using the spreadsheet, One should prepare a list for EACH separate entity and date donations were/are made. For Example: If a donation was on July 1st to Goodwill, and another to Goodwill on September 20th, two separate valuation reports should be made for each date. Likewise, if one made donations to four separate entities, a separate valuation report should be made for each entity.
This worksheet is provided as a convenience and aide in calculating the most common non-cash charitable donations. The source information used is from a Salvation Army "Valuation Guide" published several years ago and updated for assumed inflation. Although the values are believed to be reasonable, there are no guarantees or warranties as to their accuracy. The user assumes all consequences and responsibilities in the event that the valuations used here are challenged by the Internal Revenue Service.
Make sure to print each page per donation date and staple it to the donation slip that was provied by the organization. Another good document to go along with each sheet would be a picture of the items donated as this provides additional proof of contributions.
